Why Do We Need Your Donations?
Most major publications get 90% of their
revenue from advertising companies selling things like Vodka,
Gucci bags and Ferraris. The advertisers who have chosen to
advertise in our pages are small book publishers, schools,
colleges, and so forth, without the financial resources to
pay high advertising rates.
As a Catholic news magazine, we rely on subscriptions to pay for printing
and mailing the magazine. But, this is not the way most publications
survive. Most publications rely on advertising, or they have
benefactors. We don't have a large number of advertisers,
nor advertisers with "deep pockets," so we need
benefactors!
For this reason, we turn to ordinary people to ask for donations,
large and small, to support the work of Urbi et Orbi Communications,
in publishing thoughtful and inspirational journals like Inside
the Vatican magazine. Please consider helping us by sending
a donation and perhaps including us in your will.
Consider the story of the elderly Catholic priest who canceled
his subscription to Inside the Vatican magazine because his
eyesight was failing... but sent us a generous donation of
$1,000 because he believed so much in our work!

Not long after the first issue of our magazine appeared in
1993, a Polish businessman was visiting Pope John Paul II. He
asked what he could do for the Holy Father. The Pope, holding
